We are embracing flexible seating in the Library Media Center. We already have several seating options, but many of our students need to move in order to learn, and others have issues with anger or focus. We would like to meet the physical and emotional needs of all of our learners in order to be effective educators. The Wirk Desk will allow our students to move in a way that is not distracting and much more positive, which will decrease class disruptions and enable us to work with students on academics rather than behavior. The desk will also be available to students around campus who need it as a safe place or cool down spot. In addition, it will encourage exercise and help our students increase their health and fitness.
