I encourage all my students to be risk takers in the classroom. This means reading aloud, answering questions, and solving problems, even when it might be difficult. Using dry erase markers and materials allows my students to be risk takers in the classroom. They are not daunted by the thought of erasing or showing their work. Instead, students enjoy adding to their work, erasing, and beginning a new problem. In addition to encouraging risk taking, I also teach my students the importance of taking care of the environment and recycling. Using dry erase materials allows students to reuse materials such as timed tests and word puzzles. Using dry erase materials allows me to administer quick assessments for my students, allowing me to adapt the lesson as needed. Students are also able to get up an move around the classroom with these materials, making learning mobile and collaborative.
