I teach at a Title I Elementary school located just south of downtown Houston, Texas. My students were all affected by Hurricane Harvey at the beginning of last school year. I am an Autism Teacher at my school. Teaching students with autism. My students are self-contained in my classroom the majority of the day. We try and get them into the general education setting as much as we can to help them grow socially with their general education peers. A lot of my students are able to go for classes like music and physical education. The majority of my students suffer a lack of academic, social, and self-help skills that prevent them from being able to function in a general education classroom the majority of the time. My students strive on structures and routines as well as visuals throughout the classroom to help them succeed and communicate in their environment. With your help we can help my students succeed!
