My students are exposed to very limited goals. They don't see the world the way that many kids do. I want this year to be meaningful and inspiring; I want them to learn something that will impact their lives forever. I tell them that reading is everything, you can't get a job if you don't know how to read. If you can't comprehend something then that will affect you for every subject for the rest of your school years. Their biggest focus is reading and writing in English. They grab books out of my room everyday and most of them love to read. I want to create a class project with these books they will be receiving after this money is funded. A book they can read and keep forever but also share with their families. Many of them are teaching their parents to read and write as well!
