I teach an amazing group of general and special education high school seniors in a "collaborative model" classroom that includes students with learning disabilities, social disorders, and students on the autism spectrum. Many of these students have faced adversity throughout their schooling and have been mistakenly labeled by peers as "different" or "slow". Most of my students will be transitioning into the harsh reality of our current job market, with additional challenges and obstacles that other students do not face. These teenagers are bright and motivated, and although they may not all be college-bound, my dream is for them to find a passion to pursue as their career.
