The children in my classroom have a unique opportunity to choose work according to their interest. However, some of my children lack intrinsic motivation for academic learning and need activities that are more attractive and interesting for reading and writing. The Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs, the Alphabet books and the Alphabet Picture Magnets will assist in helping children learn letters and letter sounds. Sight-Word Puzzles and The Phonics materials will assist with learning to read. Write the Letter Activity Center will assist with handwriting practice in a fun and interesting way. The materials will be placed on the language shelves in the classroom as lessons to be initially given by the teacher to individual children or groups. Then the children can use the materials freely to fit their learning needs on a daily basis. These materials will add enriching language to our Montessori environment and help meet the needs of the diverse learners that have great potential but need an extra boost!
