Please help me help my students. Every child deserves a chance to succeed in school, and my students are no exception. There are a lot of issues going on in their lives that affect their ability to learn and socialize in school. In my class, the students are on different reading levels, different maturity levels, and different communication abilities. Therefore, it takes different approaches to teach all the students the same subject matter. Teaching students with varied learning needs is a difficult job, and it takes a lot of patience, planning and resources. To do my job successfully, I find myself purchasing a lot of learning resources. I spend a lot of my own money to help “my kids.” I am still in need of a lot of resources to ensure that my students have the best opportunity to learn. Things that I desperately need to help “my kids” learn are: * Double sided teaching easel – I can prepare multiple activities and provide students with the opportunity to work on various tasks. * Five (5) headphones that cancel out noise - noise cancelling headphones do an incredibly effective job of making it seem like you’re just sitting (or standing or whatever) in a quieter place. * Google Home Speakers – has a library of information including movies that students can interact with making learning visual and fun. * Leveled Books - In a nutshell, leveled reading is a literacy strategy in which teachers’ pair children with books that best match their reading abilities. In closing, I am asking you to help me help “my kids” learn by providing these essential teaching/learning tools.
