Getting copies and printing out materials for lessons can be a real challenge. Classroom supplies are slowly becoming extinct as budgets are cut more and more each year. It is quite sad that every corporation in America has billions of dollars to spend on printers and color copies and yet there are scarcely any available for the young, growing minds in our schools. Our special needs children need graphic organizers and modified task sheets. English language learners need photographs and visual cues as they acquire vocabulary. With a color printer, these visual aides will assist them in their learning as most of them need as much help as possible. Students would be able to also print photos for their non-fiction writing projects, create beautiful covers for their Social Studies projects, and see maps that show the boundaries and other text features to make graphs and charts that you just can't see with black and white copies. Can you imagine trying to teach a Social Studies Map lesson without color copies? Please help make this possible for these second-grade children.
