My class is a moderate to severe special day class for students ages 5-9. Their disabilities include autism, mental retardation and cerebral palsy. Communication, socialization and attention are challenges for them. They attend a regular elementary school where achievement is highly valued. My students are highly motivated to communicate and to read. They need support to promote attention to task and specialized instruction to help them learn to speak and to read.
