Our computers are over 10 years old and in technology years that's 1000. My current computer takes 10 minutes to load and cannot sustain the demands of today's learning sites. Their station time is usually spent with a blue screen because the processor is too slow. This causes their independent practice time to be spent sitting idle. I currently do not have any other computes in my room. We use a computer-based reading program for assessment and we've created individualized lessons to improve their fluency comprehension. It is imperative that we incorporate technology across the curriculum to reinforce and extend student learning.
