The rug area will provide students a bright welcoming spot to come to learn together as a whole class. Students will have individual spaces that provide them with their own space, providing the much needed structure during rug time. The small group horseshoe style table will allow me to be close to all of the students in my small group, so that I can help them break up words, stay on track in their books, and so much more that is not possible with the current round table set up that I have in my existing classroom. Both of these items will provide a welcoming feeling in the classroom and allow for better instruction during both whole group and small group times.
