As a Learning Strategist at a Title One Elementary school, I am honored to support teachers and serve all students PreK-5th grade. The student population consists of 67.4% Hispanic, 18.5% Black, 6.8% White and 100% of students qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch (FRL). 67% of the student population are English Language learners (ELLs). Despite the low-socio economic status and language barriers, students at Gene Ward Elementary School are happy, excited, and motivated to come to school and learn. I admire their enthusiasm and dedication to achieve their academic goals and aspire to be their BEST!
