I teach at a Title I school in Georgia many of my students simply cannot afford supplies that are absolutely necessary for a successful school year and being a first time teacher i can only supply so much. I am asking for classroom manipulative such, organization supplies and fun activities to get us started. For example many of my students struggle with reading and the basis off reading is knowing the words. I've asked for a game called "fishing for sight words" because it will allow my students to "play" while learning. I have also included some different seating options for my classroom in the form of soft seats. Many of the students in my classroom enjoy the ability to choose! They take pride in making decisions for themselves and typically focus better when given the option. Research has shown that students learn in multiple different ways and places. The items I've asked for will be used to help reach students who learn hands on as well as reinforce our whole group lectures with puzzles and white boards. Your generous donation to our project will improve our First grade classroom by supplying students with the materials they need as well as fun interactive games they will enjoy learning from.
