The days of "chalk and talk" in the math classroom are gone! I try to create and execute meaningful, creative, fun and differentiated student-based activities in the classroom. This school year, my colleagues and I are implementing guided math station activities in our math classrooms. Many of these activities incorporate the use of manipulatives and technology. Due to huge budget cuts, the lack of a state budget in Connecticut, and the current state of public education in the US, Middletown is unable to purchase many of the resources and supplies that are needed to effectively implement guided math in the classroom. Unfortunately, my classroom is not yet at the level technologically to meet my students' needs as learners in a 21st Century inquiry-based math classroom. Please help me in achieving this goal for my current and future students.
