The active learning stools and bean bags will be used by students during whole group, small group, and independent activities. The alternative seating choices will make learning more exciting for my students who struggle with attention, sensory processing, and autism. Students will be able to move, activating their core, while completing small group activities and seat work. I have witnessed students become motivated and engaged in non-preferred tasks simply by the exciting and alternative seating provided. I have also noticed that when students are comfortable in class they can read and listen for longer periods of time, thus helping them reach success on their individual education plan goals and their own personal education goals. I am excited to help my students through this change in my classroom seating.
