I will create lessons for science, social studies, ELA, and math using these books as an anchor. I will use the books to grasp students interest before jumping into academic tasks. I will correlate these books with our monthly themes, connect them to fictional stories we are reading, complete book reports, develop journal writing, and base classroom discussions on these non-fiction stories. They will basically be my curriculum for this school year since my school lacks a solids curriculum for the fourth grade. Most importantly I will encourage students to read these stories independently to spark a love of reading within each one of them.
