The school library should be a hub of information, learning, and exploring. 3D printing allows students to explore materials that may be cost prohibitive to acquire, but not to reproduce in 3D. Art students would have the option of seeing their works from all angles. Hurricane Harvey presented our students with very real world issues of engineering and urban living. 3D printers would give future engineers the opportunity to explore solutions in a very tangible way. Students in the engineering and robotics classes could use the printer to make models and machine parts. The possibilities are only limited by the students' imaginations.
