The value in playing some good old fashioned board games is immeasurable. The strategy needed, teamwork and interaction between peers is a valuable skill for my 6th grade students. Each week my students have the opportunity to earn a 50 minute game time on Friday. They use technology enough - let's play a board game! Providing my students with these games will give them reasons to earn this reward. These are all classic games that teach good sportsmanship, involve criticial thinking, strategy and skill. It will encourage the students to communicate effectively with their classmates and have fun at the same time!
