Having different genre level books in our classroom library will definitely help students to improve their vocabulary, reading fluency and comprehension as well! The majority of my students are below their reading level, and are struggling with their grades for the lack of comprehension. Most of them don't have access to read books at home! In my classroom, students are allowed to take books home so they can read to themselves or to their younger siblings. Unfortunately my library is very small and students sometimes have to read the same book over and over again. Having a variety of books in their level will help them to read for learning and consequently, pleasure! Becoming good readers will definitely help them to improve their grades and be successful.
