Our fourth grade is eager about getting techy this year! My class is quickly gaining interest into the tech world and are excited to further explore the world of invention and creation, when it comes to bringing their virtual creations into reality. Students will be using the STEM skills to create models of their inventions to further understand science and social studies concepts, that they have a difficult time visualizing, such as how a slide whistle changes amplitude and frequency of sound waves, which create a new pitch. Students will have to work collaboratively to come up with solutions to design problems, and think critically to ensure that their design will hold up. By having the 3D printer and filaments, students will be able to bring their virtual creations to life. These inventions can be used to present and explain their concepts, and design process to other classes, the school, and parents/community. This 3D printer would be used for fourth grade to enable students imagination to come to life in front of their eyes.
