The donations for this project will support my students by allowing them to move while learning. They are currently expected to sit in a chair for most of the day, which is not natural for sixth graders. This is a lively group that needs all of my attention to be focused on their learning, and not on their actions. When students can move around in a safe and controlled way, their oxygen flow to the brain increases, which improves their focus on the work, as well as burning off excess energy throughout the day. My students are ready to be empowered to choose where and how they would like to complete their work in the classroom. Giving them the responsibility to choose will help them become more self-aware in all aspects of their learning and take ownership over their education.
