My Students are grouped into 4-5 during reading stations. Stations are hard to manage especially when the teacher is attending to a small group of slow readers. Encouraging slow readers to read chapter books can be very challenging. We need 1;1 ratio of iPads to students so that my students can read and work independently throughout the day. By using interactive tablets, teacher can download audiobooks to motivate slow readers or readers with similar reading levels to read during independent work, centers or stations. Consequently, this will minimize off-task behaviors and disruptions in class. Teacher can effectively cater to a small group while the rest of the class enjoy the tasks at hand. After finishing the assignment, students will have the ease of looking for other activities to do while waiting to transition. These tablets will also help my gifted students do their research projects independently.
