My students are a diverse bunch, and include a number with special needs. These kids are wonderful, but do need some extra help to get them on a level playing field with their peers.. Skills such as reading a textbook or writing an essay which come easy to some can be challenging for my special needs students. Not only that, but our school has only started to incorporate technology like laptops and smart-boards in the classroom. If my special needs students had access to some of the latest hardware and software, it would be one less challenge for them to overcome.
