With the Rigby Flying Colors leveled book series, I will be able to teach reading strategies to children at their individual reading level. Then, as they complete the book with me, I will give them the books to take home and share with their families. This will give them the opportunity to share their love of reading with their families as well. The students will show off their new sense of pride as the words flow from their lips. The children will also get the chance to read books at increasing levels as they learn and practice new reading strategies. As they increase their reading level, their confidence will also increase and hopefully, a love of reading. I will also use these books to give the children the chance to read to younger children. These books will be a huge addition to our classroom resource. My students will love them!!! The opportunity to show kids that they CAN feel success will be the highlight of my year! The BEST thing about this opportunity will be the ability to share with my future students and pay it forward! With so many books to choose from, they will have enough to last them the whole year!
