The squares provide each student with his/her own space and arrange students in a manner that allows for easy viewing of the teacher and/or Smart Board. The different colored squares will also allow for smother transitions to and from the rug (i.e. "Table 1, go to the rug and sit in the red squares."; "Green row, go to your desks and get started."). With this rug, every precious minute of teaching/learning will be maximized as less time will be spent arranging and transitioning students. This rug will allow me and my students to easily and efficiently do our jobs (teaching and learning!) every day in the classroom.
