All of the students in my school love listening and playing music from a young age. The students who are in the elective classes are given instruments to use and a lot of them have seen better days. I am asking for a selection of new instruments such as clarinets, trumpets, and drums that would not only be used during the school day, but it would give more students the opportunity to peruse music after school for those who do not get into the elective program. As my students progress on their instruments through the years, they will be able to experience more opportunities to perform inside their school community, outside of their school community, and even take their talents to magnet high schools for the arts. My goal is to not only empower my students through musical expression but to also increase their confidence so that they can succeed in all areas.
