My classroom at Powell Middle School is new to English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction. The supplies and teaching materials are limited. Most of the lesson plan materials are gathered from online resources to meet the students' English Language Proficiency (ELP) needs. My students consist of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Having Access World History and English curriculum books to the materials would be extrememly helpful. The ESL students are required to take their ELP test completely on computer. It would be more effective for the students to have computer access in the classroom daily for vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, research,and writing. Currently, I have classes that overlap. Teaching through technology would greatly improve reaching students at their ELP levels and differentiate instruction for the varying grade levels to meet academic demands.
