To support my students as independent learners, I am starting to provide them with different flexible seating options, and different table styles. One of the biggest changes that I have made is switching from traditional desks to classroom tables, which has created some organizational issues for my students. I have picked chair pockets that will allow my students to keep everything right in one spot. These chair pockets will help my students stay organized and keep their belongings easily accessible throughout the day. With the additional of these large chair pockets, my third graders will be able to find their materials quickly and independently so that learning time is not lost. I believe there would be a huge positive impact made in our classroom if my students no longer have to struggle to keep materials organized and ready.
