My students need materials for morning bins! They need motivation to walk in the door each day excited to get started. The bins will be used by my students each morning. While students are engaging with letter cubes, letter tiles, and word family cubes. They will have the chance to explore new words. They will be able to use silly sentences to help learn how to form complete sentences that make sense. LEGO bricks, Tinker Toys, and Interlox will allow students to build and create. Magna-Tiles will allow students to explore and create 3-dimensional shapes. Additionally, when students build, create, and collaborate they are active, talking, and building relationships. The collaboration and teamwork that goes along with morning tubs will promote positive social interactions. The conversation that stems from the different activities will build student vocabulary. Some of the bins will have specific tasks the students need to complete while others will be for exploring and creativity as well as building the fine motor skills we need to become better writers. Imagine playing and talking and laughing each morning. What a wonderful way to start the day. The students will be better engaged and more likely to have a great day of teaching and learning.
