Students enter school with various skills. Some know how to form their letters while others are still identifying them. Learning to write is a huge deal in Kindergarten. The primary journals gives students a place to draw an inspiring picture at the top while providing handwriting lines that will guide their letter development as they describe what they drew. To continue to help students develop their writing skills, the Osmo kits are a great way for students to build their letter and sound development. The game is interactive and students have to figure out the missing letter or sound of the picture provided. They figure out the missing letter and move it into the camera view to get to a new picture. Students love the one I currently have; I am looking to have three more so I can have multiple students playing at the same time. Both, the journals and the Osmo kits are going to help each student build a strong foundation in language arts to help them succeed and soar through the school year!
