Sixth grade students are full of energy, and sometimes they need to be able to burn some off while they learn so that they can concentrate. I would like to add some standing desks to my classroom to help those students who have trouble being still for 2 class periods. Many times, behavior problems are caused by excess energy, and behavior problems lead to a lapse in learning. Many of my students have identified issues that affect their ability to be still, and they need help to stay focused and engaged. If their behavior isn't managed, they can't be in class, and if they aren't in class, they aren't learning.
