All kids have a different style of learning. In order to accommodate them, it is important to provide a varied approach to the curriculum. Kids learn by doing and manipulatives are the perfect tool for teaching math concepts.
I am requesting hands-on math materials to give students the opportunity to approach the material in a variety of ways. Since the kids are learning both math and Spanish these manipulatives provide that opportunity.
The sequencing train and Unlock It! Number Match will be used during centers to help students build their number recognition and to build their stamina in counting. Since my students are learning in Spanish repetition and number identification is important to build their counting foundation. The Snap and Slide number bonds and the write and wipe number lines will be used at my teacher table to be a visual for my student who need a little extra help.
These hands-on materials will be used every day. They will be used during centers. Students will be able to explore the materials on their own and at my teacher table.
