Assign a subject to me, and I'll strive my best to create a fun learning environment for my students! My teaching partners would say that creativity is my specialty. I have been a reading and writing teacher for many years, sharing my love of literature with my students, but this year, I switched gears and my focus is on science and social studies. Kids love science! Their interest is engaged through demonstrations, experiments, and other hands-on activities. They need owl pellets, specimen centers, and a landforms game. In addition, it is my hope that by building a classroom library filled with nonfiction texts and SuperScience magazine that even my struggling readers will have their interest piqued. The books and kits that I've selected would greatly benefit their young scientific minds. My hope is to replenish classroom supplies that were destroyed by Hurricane Harvey to best meet the needs of my students through a nonfiction classroom library and hands-on activities. These tenacious kiddos and their teacher would truly be thankful!
