We need a variety of Big books to show concrete rhyming words in the stories. The students will be able to isolate beginning, ending, and middle sounds by highlighting the letters of the words used in each story. The students will be able to track print as it is being read. My students will also be able to name the setting and the characters in each book. The most important difference in my students lives will be instilling the love of reading. Most of my students do not have books at home. Big books will emphasize the importance of reading.
