I work at a Title I school with limited funds for technological resources. The current laptop cart we have is shared within my department, almost 4 years old, missing keys, and the internet is extremely inconsistent on these aged systems. With these limited resources I am unable to keep up with the need for technological support that contemporary classrooms demand. Technology is such an impactful tool and a necessary one to prepare my students for their online test at the end of the semester. A typical day in my classroom would consist of students first accessing google classroom for their Catalyst (the typical Do Now or Kick Starter). Then, students would be able to take notes on their Chromebook --color-coding-- as it is shown that this method is effective for both tactile and visual learners. After note taking, students could either be assigned a WebQuest or a Virtual Lab to engage the new material with. Finally, the class would play either Kahoot! or Space Race on Socrative as a means of assessment and review. This kind of interactive and personal engagement with technology could make a world of difference for these students who lack computers and even Wifi at home. Please help enhance the future of education!
