This is my first year at Whatcom Middle School and I am teaching 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies. This is only my second year teaching middle school and I am continuing to try to grow my classroom library by adding books that student can't keep their hands off of. I want more of the kinds of books that kids are talking about and desperate to get their hands on. I have picked a number of books that relate to my students background and interests. These books are intended to no only help them grow as readers but to also teach lessons and to grow as people who have a positive impact in their communities. Many of my students do not love to read yet, and I'm hoping that by giving them the most popular, loved books that it may spark their love of reading and they may become life-long readers. With new and exciting books, my students can continue to grow as readers.
