Take home bags will provide students an opportunity to take books home where they can read, interact, and connect with their families around literature. Children whose families talk with them, share stories with them, and read with them have an opportunity to reinforce the knowledge and skills they are learning at school. The most important purpose is to develop the love of reading by connecting the reading experience between home and school. The goal is to make reading an enjoyable family event where the student and family members share in the learning together. As students interact with their family members they have an opportunity to experience reading and learning in an environment that is relaxed and comfortable.
