I want to make science and math come alive to them. Part of our math standards we teach are numbers and measuring. I want to make soap!! Yes, that's right soap. During math, the students will work in small groups with an adult to melt the soap base. Then each child will measure the liquid to fit into the mold they select. We will use this to learn about units of measurement. We will discuss changing a solid into a liquid. The the liquid soap which will be dyed and scent by the students using the smells and colors they select. We will also teach them how to mix hey will also learn how to make it their own bath bombs. Then we will pour it into molds of various shapes. So many standards can be assessed wlth this fun project: Liquid vs solids Temperatures Measurements Colors Shapes 5 senses Personal hygiene They will love what they have made and take the finished prod
