The mission of our high school robotics team, Tidal Force FRC 1721, is to inspire a love of STEM in all students. To accomplish this mission, the team gives presentations that focus on their love of STEM, specially robotics, to groups such as Girls Inc, the Boys and Girls Club, Girl Scouts, as well as elementary and middle schools. At these presentations, students are encouraged to actively engage in the demonstrations by getting an up close look at the robot, maybe even changing the battery or driving the bot. Tidal Force would like to give each participant a pair of safety glasses. Given the large number of students seen in a year, that would be a large expense for the team. Safety is a high priority when building a robot, and safety glasses are a great place to start with students of all ages.
