I teach students with special needs in an elementary school with a high poverty level (80%). All students served in this classroom demonstrate learning differences in academic and/or social skills. Several students read two or more years below grade level. I strive to ensure that all of our students are provided with the tools they require to participate and be successful in the general education curriculum. The students whom struggle in academics can thrive with the usage of supplemental materials to address their needs in literacy skills. It is difficult for our struggling readers to comprehend text at grade level without the usage of additional resources.

About my class
