Sitting in a chair all day can be uncomfortable. Flexible seating options provide children the opportunity to learn while moving. Allowing movement while learning will help with restlessness and focus. Flexible seating such as yoga balls, scoop chairs, and wobble stools are known to increase engagement, concentration, and motivation. Our goal is to learn as much as possible in the limited time we have together. I would like my students to remember kindergarten as a safe and warm place where they exceeded even their own expectations. I feel incorporating flexible seating options in our class will help us attain that goal!
