As I'm trying to help my students improve fitness and their ability to run, measuring the distance has become very important. At our rural school we don't have a track or any effective way to measure how far our students are running on our play field. Having a measuring wheel allows me to measure different distances for the variety of students I have and their many different fitness levels. The students want to accurately measure the distance so they will know how far they have run to push themselves to their fitness path. If it really matters, they will measure it!
