My students current listening center is outdated and not functioning properly. I want to ensure all of my students have access to listening to their favorite story any time. Often, a book is read aloud at story time and my students want to hear it repeatedly. The greatest gift is a passion for reading. With this new center, my students will be able to listen to stories multiple times which is critical in the early years. As a child memorizes books, it builds their confidence as readers and develops reading comprehension. This listening center will also support a passion for books, spark imaginative thinking, encourage problem solving, and develop book handling skills.
