Have you ever sat in an environment and had someone sit just a little too close to you, without realizing it? How did it make you feel? Did it hinder the purpose of why you were sitting in the first place? Imagine being a student who is trying to listen to their teacher and a peer is just a bit too far into their personal space. Every student should be able to have a safe, successful place to sit when they are in the classroom. First graders are still learning about spacial awareness and might not realize they are affecting others around them by being in their space. With a new classroom rug, students will know where they are expected to sit and there will be no more tape to distract them during our lessons.
