When the students come in my room, half of the time they forget their materials. Time is wasted having to go back to their locker or finding someone to borrow a supply from. My classroom also has tile. So, between all of the movement of finding supplies and the noise from the chairs on the tile, it is sometimes hard to fully utilize and focus during the short time that they are in my class. I am requesting items that will help to increase our learning time in the classroom and minimize distractions. Having markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, and rulers in the classroom will help eliminate the need to go back to a locker or borrow from a friend. The electric pencil sharpener will increase sharpen time and decrease distractions for other learners. The timers will allow more students to be engaged during experiments requiring timers. The crazy traits will be an addition to our growing collection, so more students may be able to use them at the same time. Finally, the books will be an addition to our small class library, so students may quietly read - discovering new science topics - while waiting for their peers to finish a given assignment.
