Students in my room need help with maintaining focus during instruction. Second graders like to move around and it can be hard to stay seated for long periods of time. Flexible seating will allow students to change their seating patterns and maintain focus on the task at hand. Flexible seating options will include backless tools and inflatable balance balls. It has been proven that flexible seating increases student attention and therefore, increases their academic ability. Flexible seating will allow the students in my room to sit comfortably according to their needs. Students will be able to choose what kind of seat best fits them. If students are comfortable, they are less likely to get up from their seats. They are more likely to focus on instruction.
