Flexible seating will allow my students to take charge of their learning and make choices that work best for them. Flexible seating will make my classroom more accessible and engaging to students. Flexible seating will reduce the squirming and fidgeting that occurs with traditional student's chairs. Currently, my students are allowed to work in a variety of work stations throughout the classroom. During their independent work times, the students are allowed to choose to work in a variety of locations such as; at their table, underneath the table, or sitting or laying on the carpet while using clipboards. Incorporating flexible seating will help me ensure that my students are comfortable and engaged in the learning process.
