Many of my students are brand new to school. Children learn best through a fun, hands-on environment. These items I’ve selected will be used during our independent literacy center time. While I teach small literacy groups, my students engage in hands on stations to practice learned skills. I will use the play-dough mats, and gum-ball beads activity to help my students fine motor skills. Many of my kindergarten students are working on improving fine motor skills. During literacy stations they can utilize those tools to help. The writing practice boards will also be used to practice letter and number printing. This wipe away option allows kids to redo and improve each time. Due to Covid, we have limited resources students can share during literacy stations.because we must clean items between each use. Having more literacy-center-based activities in my classroom will allow me to use them and switch them out safely between children. I would love to have these items to benefit my students in learning literacy skills. I appreciate anyone who can help fund my classroom to give my students the education they deserve.
