The Who Was book series is a wildly popular series of books among elementary aged students. I would like to use these books so that my students are able to research famous people throughout history. Wax Museum Projects are an engaging way to help teach students about famous people in history, while also working on reading, writing, and presentation skills. We will take what we learn from our Who Was books and turn our discoveries into a Wax Museum at school. Students will get to dress like the person they have selected, prepare a 1-minute speech from the report that they will write, and create a 5-foot tall banner depicting that person's life. Parents and community members will be invited to "tour" our Wax Museum and listen to each student speak regarding their famous person from history.
