We currently have 4 desktop computers in our classroom and a smart board. We will use the Chromebooks during our Independent Workstations. As I work with a small group of students on leveled guided reading, another group will have the opportunity to work on the Chromebooks, while other groups are completing different assignments. We will also buddy up on the computers to do partner work, think-pair-shares, and collaborate. There are endless educational activities available on the Chromebooks for 3rd grade students. My district provides many excellent learning sites such as StudyIsland and Aleks, which both differentiate online math and reading lessons, at each students' individual learning level. I also use Readworks, RAZ kids, Scholastic and Coreclicks to enhance learning through technology. We frequently use computers to type essays, complete research and create slide shows. Unfortunately, many students are unable to access technology in their homes to assist with their learning. To be able to do this while they are at school would be fantastic! 100% of our school is on free lunch, we are a Title I school and your support will make all the difference in our classroom! Thank you!
